iEnvi was engaged by a developer to investigate a rural agricultural property. The client proposed to subdivide the property and develop it into a childcare facility.
iEnvi combined geotechnical investigation and sampling to save time and cost to the development and provided a preliminary site investigation and soil investigation report, and a soil classification report.
The investigation found that the ground contamination was negligible and suitable for the proposed childcare, and the geotechnical investigation helped determine that soil in some areas required geotechnical/engineering to prevent subsidence (or avoiding those areas by moving planned building footprints).
The development application was passed by Ipswich City Council and the client was happy to have both contamination levels assessed as suitable, but also avoid subsidence and costly building and structure related issues later down the track.
